MINDSET > STRAGEGY

If you want a strategy to grow your coaching business, YouTube one.

There’s no shortage of free resources that someone else will happily sell you for 10k.

Strategy is NOT the struggle.

The struggle is that you expect to know the journey from looking at a map.

And when the terrain looks different from what you thought, you don’t have the mindset to pivot or continue.

Instead, you look for a “better” map.

That’s why so many coaches take course after course only to find they’ve walked themselves in a circle and ended up in the same spot.

What nobody tells you when you start your coaching business is that the road to YOUR success doesn’t appear on any map.

And getting your ass kicked doesn’t come with instructions.

There’s no tutorial for being a badass in business.

You actually have to roll up your sleeves and put in the work to try shit (most of which you will be shit at in the beginning).

You have to become skillful at charting your own path even if you work off of the map someone else handed you.

Having a strategy is important. But it’s maybe 10-25% of the game.

The mindset to persist and adapt the strategy is 75-90%.

This is the work I do with my clients.

But let’s be real, it seems everybody’s advice these days is to work on your MINDSET.

But WTF is “mindset” anyways!??

It’s a term that get misused and misunderstood a lot even though everybody talks about it like they know what they’re talking about.

Mindset refers to “how you think” which is how you INTERPRET the situations you are faced with in your life and business.

Mindset is the most important piece of business development, but it is the easiest to miss because our thoughts feel like truths until we investigate them and separate them from the objective facts of a situation.

“I’m busy”

“I don’t have enough time”

“That’s a problem”

Those are all thoughts.

But I bet you at least one or two of those probably FELT pretty true to you.

We are generally not aware of our thoughts because we don’t tend to spend a whole lot of time thinking about what we’re thinking about.

Our thoughts are these invisible lenses through which we try to make sense of our lives and what’s going on in our businesses.

The reason it matters to become aware of your thoughts is because the way you feel, how you behave, and the results you are able (or not able) to create are all a function of the way you think.

A great coach won’t tell you what to think, or invalidate your point of view, or force feed you positivity until you vomit rainbows and positive affirmations only.

A great coach will show you the relation between your thoughts and your results and let you decide how YOU want to think and proceed.

They will help you develop ways of thinking that will get you from point A to where you want to be, even if you hit some major stumbling blocks out in the field.

This is what I do with my clients inside Coach to CEO™.

I could spew a bunch of infomercially facts about my program to you, but those are easy enough to look up on my website.

The important thing is that you understand that even if I hand you a map, you are on a journey to become your own authority in this industry.

People like me who’ve done what you want to do will make it easier to find your way, but ultimately this journey is yours.

You’ve gotta step into the role of CEO if you want to be known as the amazing coach that you are.

Change your life and do life changing work.
